UNION ELEMENTARY: Good morning this is Eric Brand, Principal, Union Elementary. After working with Upshur County School’s Director of Safety and the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, it has been determined that there is no threat to our staff, students, or school campus regarding the escaped inmate incident from yesterday. We will resume normal building operations as of today, Thursday, September 21. Thank You.
UNION ELEMENTARY: Good morning, this is Eric Brand, Principal at Union Elementary. At this time there is not an update on the search of the escaped inmate around the Kesling Mill area. Until I hear further information and out of an abundance of caution, we will have police presence during student arrival this morning and suspend any outdoor activities for today. We will also closely monitor our school campus throughout the day. Student safety is always our top priority. I will update you if I gather any additional information. Thank you.

UNION ELEMENTARY: First week schedules-----> First day for kindergarten is Wednesday, August 16 with a 12:30pm dismissal. All grades will be in the building on Thursday, August 17. Pre-K will start on August 23.

UNION ELEMENTARY: 4thh 9wk midterms- Our school year is flying by and our precious moments together are closing fast! We are already halfway through the fourth nine-week grading period. Please make sure to check your child's Schoology gradebook for the most up to date grades. We still have plenty of work to do this quarter, so please do not stress! If you have any questions about your child's grades, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.

UES: Change of Date- Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on Thursday, October 6 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. This is different from what was posted on the county website in August. More details will be coming home soon.
UNION ELEMENTARY: Good Evening, this is Mr. Brand, Principal at Union Elementary. We are so excited to welcome back our students this week for the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. As we embark on this learning adventure, we pledge to students and parents that this will be a year of rigorous, relevant and engaging work in our classrooms, along with special events and activities. Tomorrow, Monday, August 15 from 4pm to 6pm will be our open house. During this time you will be able to check out class lists, meet the teachers, tour the building and get transportation information. Tuesday, August 16 will the first day for Prek and Kindergarten students only and school will dismiss that day at 12:30pm. Wednesday, August 17 we welcome all of our students back to school for a regular day. For the families that are new to Union Elementary, we want you to know that you are coming to a wonderful place to learn and grow! Again welcome to the 2022-2023 school year and we will see you very soon!
The WVU Extension Service Family and Nutrition Program directors will be at UES on Wednesday Dec 8 to hold a Kids Market sponsored by the Walmart Foundation. Each student will come home with fresh fruits and veggies that are completely free to them.
Join us for Trick or Treat at Union on Thursday, October 28 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM! Stop at the pavilion for a STEM challenge and head back to the front of the school for a costume contest at 5:45! Winners will be announced at 6:00.
